Mc Donalds

This is a picture of a Chicken McNugget that I found in my car from a month ago. Still looks the same as the day it was partially eaten. So gross. I took my daughter to McDonalds the other day and she had salt all over her face. Like it was powdered sugar. Mark my words. We are never going to Mc Donalds again!!

Hmmm

I buy canned fruit. Not as good as fresh fruit, but better for you than candy! I only buy fruit canned in 100% juice. Today at the grocery store I saw one packed in "lite" syrup. Same price as 100% juice, same amount of calories, etc. But it's packed in water and sugar. Why not just buy it in 100% juice? Heavy syrup is about 50 more calories than lite and real fruit juice!

The reason I buy canned fruit is because I am allergic to certain raw fruits. Apples, peaches, plums, and pears make my throat itchy. My lips swell up a little but and my gums feel inflamed. If they are cooked or canned, this does not occur. My wife bought organic apples recently and none of the symptoms occured. Very interesting! I do hate paying more for organic fruit, but there has to be something they add to non organic fruits that make these symptoms occur to me.

Back at blogging

Kept on my "Diet" for quite some time. Stopped blogging about it. Felt like blogging again.
Around January, I stopped dieting once I reached 180 lbs. I went back on crappy food and didn't seem to gain any weight. I figured, I could just eat whatever I want since I kept going from 185 lbs back to 180 lbs during the day. I got to the point where my goal weight didn't seem skinny enough. I was slowly starting to reach 190 lbs. Something had to be done. I had a nice break from the Eat to Live diet, and I was ready to lose some more pounds.
I heard about The Biggest Loser work out DVDs and looked into them. I discovered Jillian Michaels on my On Demand cable channel. I was instantly hooked.
My wife and I were looking into getting some yoga workout machine. I can't even remember what it was called, but we were going to buy one used for 125 bucks. I was about to buy one, but Jillian's workout show was calling to me. Instead of blowing a huge amount of money for a fad workout machine, I payed 7 bucks on Amazon for "30 Minute Shred." This DVD has changed my life. I started seeing results in my first week of doing it. I look forward to doing this everyday, and it doesn't take your whole evening away as it would by going to a gym.
I was still eating crappy while doing the work outs. I wasn't losing any weight, but I was definitely gaining muscle. My quads were rock hard and I could some some nice abs coming in. Losing some weight could help these abs to show their definition.
Well, I'm back on the eat to live diet, and now for good! I'm down to 174lbs! I'm not so hard core about it, but then again maybe I am even more hard core. I am not as strict about salt. I allow myself a little bit. But I had a hamburger the other day and felt sooo sick. I am seriously considering being a vegetarian. Not just because it is good for me, but so I don't feel so gross after eating meat. I still eat salmon and a little bit of chicken breast.
I had half of a cookie at work yesterday and it tasted so fake to me. Almost like diet food. Maybe the cooks used splenda.
I am really seeing how this is a way of life. Not just because it's healthy, but because I don't want to feel so gross after I eat something.
I bought Jillian's book "Master Your Metabolism" this weekend. I only read the intro, but it sounds similar to "Eat to Live." I am really enjoying it!

Back on the wagon

After enjoying many holiday treats, I am getting back on the diet again. Yesterday I ate healthy for breakfast and lunch, but ate some snacks for the Monday Night football game. Once you go back on the diet, I feel like you should slowly go back. Yesterday was a warm up, and today I have eaten healthy. I weighed 190 lbs this morning.

Before diet

190 lbs!!
Will have a meal here and there that is unhealthy. Mainly due to the holidays. For example we had pizza for lunch yesterday. For supper I had grapes, carrots, and a salad. Nothing else for the rest of the night.

About 194 lbs. Have been eating a few Holiday treats. That can be expected at this time of year. But I have been eating a lot less of them that I have in the past. Christmas brunch tomorrow and Christmas food next weekend. Looking forward to lots of good food, but won't go overboard. Plus, I feel more full after a few unhealthy treats than I did in the past.
I was a bit crabby on Wednesday as I wasn't enjoying what I was eating.
I have been very successful on this diet. I will continue this diet until I reach about 180. When I am at a weight I am happy with, I will continue to eat lots of veggies and fruit. Will add more meats and rice, but won't go crazy with it. It is nice to be aware of how healthy foods affect how you look on the outside and how you feel in the inside.
